Himayat-e-Islam

It was in 1969 that Anjuman Himayat-i-Islam, the renowned premier NGO of the country established Himayat-i-Islam Law College in the building of Govt. Islamia College Civil Lines, Lahore, which was at that time also running under the management of Anjuman Himayat-i-Islam. About three thousand students, who could not get admission in the University Law College, sought admission in that year. The students established brilliant records at the University level due to the high standard of education in the college. It became the biggest law college in the country in a short span of time.

In 1972, the college was nationalized by the Government and subsequently it was merged with the University Law College. When the Govt. lifted ban on the educational activities in the private sector, the Himayat-i-Islam Law College was restarted in 1988 by the Anjuman at 119-Multan Road, Lahore. The College was affiliated with the University of the Punjab, the same year. The college has, due to excellent standard of education, achieved the same high pedestal in the field of legal education as it used to enjoy during the period 1969-1972.

- Honorary Secretary General's Message
  
  Students of Pakistan history must be aware of the prestigious role of the Anjuman Himayat i Islam in creating space for the Muslim League in the Punjab, and its zealous fight against the Unionists, Hindus and Sikhs, who were bitterly against the movement for Pakistan. Annual Meetings of the Anjuman were honored with presesnce of the shining elite of Muslim leaders of the time, including Allama Muhammad Iqbal. This Anjuman Established by few noble dignitaries as Trust, succeeded in establishing a number of educational instituions in Lahore, serving the Muslim community of Lahore and the Punjab. I am honored to be the Honorary Secretary General of the Anjuman Himayat i Islam which is also running the H. I. Law College, with assistance of eminent former Judges of Supreme Court and Lahore High Court, and of course, with dedicated endeavours of its Principal, Faculty and the Staff.
  
  I have been member of the National Assembly twice, and still serving the Nation in various fields, but I feel immense pleasure being part of the team running all these noble educational institutions. We also tried to keep legal education accessible for most of the people through reasonable fee structures, without compromising the quality of education. Your College will get new dimensions soon, in sha Allah!
  
  I pray for success to all of you, and hope that everyone of you will stand firm in the noble service of legal profession, safeguarding fundamental rights of citizens of Pakistan, and all out backing for rule of law and equality before law for all.

  Being Chairperson of the H.I.Law College Committee, its a matter of great satisfaction that we are entering into another academic year soon.
  
  With kind support of the Anjuman Himayat I Islam headed by a well known figure of legal profession, Mr. Zia Haider Rizvi, and tireless efforts of the whole team of the H.I. Law College Committee comprising the shining names of the Judiciary like Mr. Justice(r) Iqbal Hameed ur Rehman, Mr. Justice(r) Rustam Ali Malik, Mr. Justice (r) Mehmood Maqbool Bajwa, Mr. Fakhar Hayat former Registrar Lahore High Court, and others, we have taken a number of decisions to take this old and noble Institution to new honours.
  
  Soon, the College Campus will add more class rooms equipped with all accessories, separate I.T. Labs for males and females, a functional cafeteria, more books in Library and lot of academic and co-curricular challenges to enhance the pleasure of learning.
  
  Our generation could not achieve well for this beautiful Country, and our hopes are pinned up with this energetic, digital world generation to take Pakistan to new heights in the comity of Nations.

  Dear Scholars!
  
  Hoping you all had done very well in your examinations, on behalf of the Faculty and the Management of the H.I. Law College, I extend you my best wishes for excellent results.
  
  Simultaneously, I welcome all the students joining this noble College in LL.B. Part I. Taking decision to join a 5-year course is undoubtedly a serious matter with all significance relating to career planning. We assure you that you will get dedicated attention of your teachers, supported by a fully equipped library headed by a senior librarian, and an I.T. Lab for your academic and research assignments.
  
  Time is precious. And a day is very intelligently measured into variable hours and minutes and seconds. A single minute wasted, will never come back in life. So, dear students, value your time. Ensure maximum attendance in classes. Enrich your minds. Tomorrow, some of you will be Judges, some Lawyers, some Administrators, Politicians and Businessmen. Whatever duty is waiting for you, just deliver your best and be a pride for your parents, family and the society.
  
  The College is going to make your academic year very productive, along with co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Care your health as well, and take part in all such pursuits to shape you up better.
